Hello, and welcome to D/D Vitality. However you came to find me, I am ecstatic to have you here. I am a 25 year old Registered Nurse out of Kansas City, Missouri, and have spent over a decade navigating the worlds of fitness, nutrition, medicine, and competitive athletics. Weightlifting started my journey back in 2015 as I began learning all I could from books, magazines and whatever information online I could get my hands on. Since then, I've tried every program, every "split," every diet that you can imagine. I've made my athletic goals into reality, from College Football to now Bodybuilding. The lessons learned during these years of trail and error have been priceless, and it's time to share from my experiences. I aim to save you the frustration of spinning your wheels with unguided efforts. A decade's worth of applied study is what I bring to the table, and I can help you skip the guesswork. There's an opportunity to waste no time, and set foot on a path of linear progress.
What resonates with me about fitness is the simplicity. The science that makes up the "process" keeps me encouraged. Knowing that if I can execute each step of the plan, check each box, and keep all metrics accountable; the only plausible end product is success. It isn't easy, but it is simple. There's nobody to rely on but yourself, encouraged by reaping what you sew consistently. Everything you want for yourself is just beyond your comfort zone.
From 2018 -2022, I enjoyed the opportunity to play football at Pittsburg State University. I studied Nursing and Exercise Science, graduating with honors. Compounding upon my years of dedication to the weightroom in high school, I left my time at Pitt State an exponentially greater athlete than when I arrived, a testament to 4 years of professionally directed training and nutrition. Since football, I've cut a wider swathe in the world of fitness. I've found passion in other forms of training, taking a less performance based approach and adopting a more aesthetic focus. From 2022-2024 I focused on body recomposition, and in late 2024 I decided I was ready to try a Natural Bodybuilding Show. I knew this decision came with a learning curve as an athlete, but I recognized the invaluable experience it would bring to my training career, and the intimate relationship I would build with discipline through executing the details of prep. I was good at being strong and athletic, but when compared to the level of detail required for a well executed Bodybuilding Prep, strength training is like the tip of the iceberg. Knowing my aspirations to coach others one day, I asked myself "How can I guide a client through a prep, if I cannot guide my own?" For 6 months, I put everything I had into my research, planning, and execution. I independently coached myself on this journey, and was able to win my class in Classic Physique. It was a small show for the NPC, but this attempt taught me more than I had ever dreamed, and brought to light the improvements I could make both to my physique, but also to the programming. In bodybuilding, lifestyle and the decisions made outside of the gym are 80% of the equation. The things I learned about Prep, Peak Week, and Bodybuilding Lifestyle by navigating this independently have not only made me a better competitor, but also allowed me to offer much more as a coach. Details such as Sleep, Nutrient Timing, and an thorough understanding of how the body works can all make the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
With the demands for knowledge that coaching imposes, my career in medicine provides the expertise necessary to manage client's programing with scientific depth and safety. I hold 3 years experience working in as an ICU Nurse, now currently working as a Vascular Specialist in the KC Metro. If your situation entails, I can adapt programming to clients with varying medical conditions, and at any level of experience. My experience allows me to be mindful with medication regimes, lab work, imaging, symptoms, and comprehensively incorporate this information into the crafting of your program. If you need help, I can empower you with education, and help you navigate how your health data may affect your day to day and your journey with fitness.
I approach medicine, and ultimately life in general, with a prominent holistic bias. I prefer to utilize that which Earth readily provides to facilitate healing, and to enhance the quality of our lives. I'm well versed in using herbal medicine to rid disease from the body, or to help manage chronic conditions without toxic prescriptions. I excel in optimizing performance/recovery with over a decade in the supplement industry, and I've navigated countless injuries and multiple surgeries from my time in sports. Hiccups of injury in my athletic career peaked my interest in rehabilitative programming, and my experience has the potential to get you out of chronic pain for good. Wherever you are in your journey towards Vitality, allow me to remove the guesswork, empower you with knowledge and encouragement, and set you on a linear path to a state of thriving.
